Jakarta, - The Indonesian Geothermal Association (INAGA) in collaboration with KS Orka Renewables Pte Ltd, held a Technology Sharing session: "Modular Geothermal Power Plant" on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Graha Bimasena, Jakarta.
The event begins with the Opening by the President of INAGA – Priyandaru Effendi, followed by the Keynote Speech "Geothermal Development in Indonesia" by the Geothermal Director – Mrs Ida Nuryatin Finahari and the main event Presentation of "Modular Geothermal Power Plant" by Dr. Yan Tang.
Kaishan Zhejiang Compressor is a compressor company from China that is currently developing a Modular Geothermal Power Plant consisting of Steam Power plant and Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) using screw expander. Screw expander has a principle similar to that of a steam turbines so that it can be an alternative to conventional turbines in geothermal power plants. The ORC modular technology has been used in Turawell PLTP which is operated by KS Orka in Budapest, Hungary.
The combination of the steam power plant and ORC power plant was also applied to the Sorik Marapi PLTP in North Sumatra, which is currently in the process of commissioning.
PLTP Sorik Marapi 30 MW will become the first Modular Geothermal Power Plant in Indonesia and will COD by end of this year.
This Technology Sharing/Lunch Talk is a routine activity of INAGA and this time followed by around 50 participants from geothermal companies, the event ended with lunch and friendly gathering.
